This summer, we have been running expanded service funded by the Marine Passenger Fee Program. As the cruise ship season winds down, we will be returning to our normal, year-round service levels.

Effective the week of Monday, September 29:

• The Route 8 Express will run Monday through Friday only.
  • No Route 8 Express service on Saturday or Sunday, please use the Core Service Routes 3 or 4 on the weekend for service between Downtown and the Mendenhall Valley.

Effective the week of Monday, October 5:

Seasonal Change, starting Monday, October 5:

• Normal Sunday service hours will resume.
  • All Core Service routes on Sunday will start later in the morning, and end earlier in the evening, compared to our extended summer service.
    • First buses on Sunday:
      • Downtown to Valley: Route 3 at 9:15 am from the Downtown Transit Center.
      • Valley to Downtown: Route 3 at 9:15 am from the Valley Transit Center
      • Douglas to Downtown: Route 1 at 9:03 am from Treadwell
      • Downtown to Douglas: Route 1 at 9:17 am from the Downtown Transit Center
    • Last buses on Sunday:
      • Downtown to Valley: Route 4 at 5:45 pm from the Downtown Transit Center
      • Valley to Downtown: Route 4 at 5:45 pm from the Valley Transit Center
      • Douglas to Downtown: Route 1 at 5:33 pm from Treadwell
      • Downtown to Douglas: Route 1 at 6:17 pm from the Downtown Transit Center

Temporary Service Reductions, starting Monday, October 5:

Due to a staffing shortage, the following service will temporarily be suspended, starting Monday, October 5. This service is expected to resume later in October:

• Temporarily Suspended: Route 9 Egan Express departing at 7:15 am from the Valley Transit Center to Downtown. Please use the Route 8 Downtown Express departing at 7:15 am, or the Route 9 Egan Express departing at 6:45 am as alternatives.
• Temporarily Suspended: Route 8 Valley Express buses departing the Downtown Transit Center at 7:30 am, 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:00 pm. Other scheduled Route 8 Valley Express buses will run as normally scheduled. Please use those other Route 8 buses, or Route 3 or 4 Mendenhall Valley buses as alternatives.
• Temporarily Suspended: Route 8 Downtown Express buses departing the Valley Transit Center at 8:15 am, 10:15 am, 11:45 am, and 1:15 pm. Other scheduled Route 8 Downtown Express buses will run as normally scheduled. Please use those other Route 8 buses, or Route 3 or 4 Downtown buses as alternatives.
