• Detour: Due to road construction, Vanderbilt Hill Road is closed until further notice. Route 8 Downtown/Valley Express buses will travel on Glacier Highway through the Twin Lakes area. As with normal routing, these buses will NOT make any stops between downtown on 12th Street and Western Auto. Please use the Route 3 or Route 4 Downtown/Mendenhall Valley buses for access to stops between Western Auto and 12th Street. Starting May 26, 2026
• Modified Service: Effective Monday, April 20, 2026, the Route 6 Airport Connector service will be suspended until further notice due to staffing limitations. For airport access, please use the Routes 3 & 4. Disembark/embark at stops near Wells Fargo or Nuvision Credit Union and follow Shell Simmons Dr. for a 0.4-mile walk to/from the airport. Starting April 15, 2026
• Detour: Capital Transit will be implementing detours in the Mendenhall Valley due to the Glacial Lake Outburst Flood. Detour routing will start at 5 pm on Wednesday 8/12/2026 and continue until further notice. Routes 3, 4, 7, 8 & 9 will be impacted throughout the Mendenhall Valley. The posted detour routes will be maintained while safe, but Mendenhall Valley bus service may be suspended or modified without prior notice, as flood conditions develop.
