Fall 2025 Service Changes

This summer, we have been running expanded service funded by the Marine Passenger Fee Program. As the cruise ship season winds down, we will be returning to our normal, year-round service levels.

Effective the week of Monday, September 22:

  • The Route 8 Express will run Monday through Friday only.
    • No Route 8 Express service on Saturday or Sunday, please use the Core Service Routes 3 or 4 on the weekend.

Effective the week of Monday, October 6:

  • Normal Sunday service will resume.
    • All Core Service routes on Sunday will start later in the morning, and end earlier in the evening.
  • During the day, the Route 1 Douglas/Downtown buses will only stop at Cedar Park when travelling from Downtown to Treadwell.
    • During the day:
      • If travelling from Cedar Park to downtown, passengers have two options:
        • Board the bus at Cedar Park (#517) as the bus is heading to Treadwell (typically at :24 or :54 minutes after the hour), and ride the loop to Treadwell and then to Downtown.
        • Board the bus at the Cordova Street stop (#539) near Breeze-In (typically at :09 or :39 minutes after the hours).
      • If travelling on the bus from the Treadwell area to Cedar Park, passengers should use the Cordova Street stop near Breeze-In (#539).
        • Passengers also have the option to transfer to the next bus at the Cordova Street stop across from Breeze-In (#516), which will travel up the hill to Cedar Park. Please inform the driver if you would like to make this transfer when boarding the first bus.
          • Other potential transfer locations might be at the Senior Center or the Federal Building, if the bus is not running behind schedule.
      • In the Evening, after the Route 1 buses go to hourly service, all buses will stop at Cedar Park while travelling in both directions.
  • The Route 6 Airport Connector service will resume during peak morning and afternoon periods, Monday – Friday only.
    • This route will start from the Valley Transit Center Bay 1, and provide service to the Airport via Glacier Hwy, with stops across from the Skate Park and at Professional Plaza.
    • From the Airport, this route will continue to stops on Airport Blvd near GCI and the SEARHC facility on Crest Street, continuing to Teal Street, Jordan Ave at Nugget Mall, the Valley Restaurant, and the Skate Park, ending at the Valley Transit Center.
    • Transfers may be made at the Valley Transit Center between the Route 6 and the Routes 3, 4, and 8 in both directions.
    • This service also enhances connections between the Route 8 Downtown/Valley Express Service and the Nugget Mall area during peak periods.
  • The first afternoon run of the Route 7 Lemon Creek Commuter will now depart the Downtown Transit Center at 1:00 pm (instead of 2:00 pm).
